Wolf River Greenway Continues Connecting Memphians

Since 2003, the Wolf River Greenway has been a pipeline dream for institutions, and individuals of Memphis. Nearly 15 years later after the initial vision of what the 13 mile stretch of Green Line could become, the project is nearing completion. The trailheads now connect the city from the suburbs of Germantown, Cordova, Raleigh, Mid-town, and Downtown Memphis with only a few left to complete.

These past weeks, though, major visible signs of completion are coming forth with the installation of the new trailhead pylons at key locations throughout the city.

These trailheads and the paths carved out to them represent one of the cities most equitable projects in the history of Memphis. We have come together to connect each other in ways never thought possible.

As it stands, the Wolf River Greenway has now added eight new trailheads this year in easily accessible areas all over Memphis including what’s pictured in this article.

We think these new trailheads will help spurn even more investment/interest in an already booming health and wellness community throughout the Mid-south and give Memphians another awesome activity they can participate in outdoors.

Bikes, skateboards, roller blades, and walking are all welcomed activities you can participate in while traveling the Greenway which currently connects nearly 20 miles of Memphis neighborhoods. The trailhead signs themselves are roughly 5’ wide by 10’ tall by 4.5” thick … so pretty massive!

Each sign features a painted aluminum veneer and printed vinyl graphics to match the branding specifications of the Wolf River Conservancy. The signs also feature logos for Shelby County and the Park Reservation Administration.
